THE SIEGE & BATTLE OF HABBANIYA IN 1941
This page is currently under
construction and will ultimately
contain a description and chronology
of the heroic efforts made by those
who took part in the Siege & Battle.
The Official RAF website has been
promising a Timeline of the Siege &
Battle for a couple of years now,
hopefully we will beat them to it!

UNFORTUNATELY THIS WEBSITE IS NOW APPEARS DEFUNCT
The history of 4FTS on the official
RAF website. It gives an account of
the Siege & Battle in the air.
Published 26 November 2002, this is an account of the Siege & Battle from
the official report produced at the time. It is not a full and complete
account but does contain much which has not previously been published.
There are also details of the aircraft involved and the losses sustained.

Mike Skeet's excellently researched site detailing, for the first time,
the part played by the 3 Vickers Valentias in the preparation, conduct and
aftermath of the Siege & Battle. It also gives a poignant account of his
father, Flt Lt Maurice Skeet, OC Communications Flight at the time.
Gaby Gewarkis Levy Site.
This is a highly detailed account of the Siege & Battle with particular
emphasis on the ground operations by the Levies. Most of the Levy
operations were carried out in conjunction with the Kings Own Royal
Regiment and No 1 Company RAF Armoured Cars so there is therefore a
lot of detail of their activities as well. Brilliant!
Gaby Gewarkis Levy Site Account of the Siege.
Lots of interest to explore about the RAF Iraq Levies in this site.
Charles Egerton SPYBE's account of his time with the RAF Armoured Car during
the Siege and subsequent active service in Syria & Western Desert.
