CRASH OF A MOSQUITO IN MAY 1946
On 30th May 1946 a Mosquito crashed on take-off from
Habbaniya. It was on its way from UK to Karachi, being ferried out
East by 1 Ferry Unit. The Pilot, Flt Lt Victor Goddard DFC and the
Navigator, Wt Off Eamon Stallard were both killed and lie buried
in the RAF Cemetery at Habbaniya. The Honorary Secretary is in
contact with his niece, through the Family Tree magazine.
RESCUE OF A PARALYSED LACW FROM
SER AMADIA IN 1946
Do you remember the rescue of an airwoman who was paralysed in
a fall from a mule up at the summer leave camp at Ser Amadia - or
her subsequent treatment at Habbaniya and transport back to UK?
